BACKGROUND - updated January 2009
The CEU is the exclusive bargaining agent for union members working at the Workers' Compensation Board of British Columbia (WCB) The CEU gains this jurisdictional right from the BC Labour Relations Code.
As the exclusive bargaining agent, the Union seeks to improve working conditions for its members and enters into collective bargaining from time to time with the WCB. The term of the Collective Agreement will vary depending on a number of factors including the economic and political landscape of the Province.
